A September 2008 study by the Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction (CERHR) on Bisphenol A. BPA is a high production volume chemical used primarily in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastics are used in some food and drink containers; the resins are used as lacquers to coat metal products such as food cans, bottle tops, and water supply pipes.

"The NTP has some concern for effects on the brain, behavior, and prostate gland in fetuses, infants, and children at current human exposures to bisphenol A."

The conclusion is that we should make every effort to purchase water or organic drinks in either glass or non resin coated cans. If you must purchase any drinks in plastic, try and transfer to either stainless steel or glass as soon as possible!
